What happened
TÜBİTAK and Jordan’s National Center for Research and Development (NCRD) have launched their 2026 bilateral call for collaborative research projects under the TÜBİTAK 1071 Programme.
Funding is available for projects involving researchers in Türkiye and Jordan. The stated priority areas are food security, water scarcity, and biodiversity, ecosystem restoration and climate resilience. Further sub-topics are set out in the call text.
Researchers in Türkiye must submit proposals jointly with researchers in Jordan. Applications submitted by one side alone are not eligible.
Why it matters
The call creates a route for Turkish research teams to develop cross-border work with Jordanian partners in areas connected to environmental resilience and resource pressures. Applicants need to identify and agree a project partnership before submitting, as a Jordanian co-applicant is mandatory.
What's next
Applications must be lodged by 23:59 Türkiye time on 31 December 2026. The deadline for electronic signatures is 23:59 Türkiye time on 8 January 2027. TÜBİTAK has published the call announcement with further information.
