What happened
The FOREST Partnership has launched its 2026 joint call, known as FORESTPathways, under Horizon Europe. It supports collaborative research and innovation concerning forests, forestry and forest-based sectors.
Thirty-six partners from 27 countries are participating in the call. Applicants must choose one of four areas: forest systems able to withstand climate pressures; adaptable, multifunctional forest management; timber and new wood-based products; or forest value chains, marketing and governance.
Only international projects are eligible. Consortia must follow the international call conditions and complete their international submission through the FOREST electronic submission and evaluation system.
Why it matters
Turkish universities, research organisations and other participating institutions can seek support for eligible proposals through TÜBİTAK’s 1071 International Cooperation Projects Support Programme. Their projects must include an international consortium rather than a Turkish-only partnership.
Turkish participants have a dual filing requirement. Alongside the submission to the call secretariat, they must file a national application with TÜBİTAK. The national application must be made through the TÜBİTAK International Cooperation Department Project Application System using an electronic signature. Applications that do not meet the national rules may be returned without assessment.
What's next
The deadline for first-stage international proposals is 2 December 2026 at 13:00 CET. Turkish applicants must secure approval of their first-stage national application in the TÜBİTAK system by 8 December 2026 at 23:59 Turkish time, followed by electronic signature by 11 December 2026 at 23:59 Turkish time.
An online information meeting will take place on 1 October 2026 at 10:00. Registration closes on 30 September 2026. TÜBİTAK will announce the date for the second-stage national application separately.
