What happened

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/2241, dated 8 October 2026, amends Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2746 on the Farm Sustainability Data Network.

The amendment revises Annex VIII, which sets out exemptions from submitting particular variables. The exemptions are differentiated by country and reporting year, with entries covering 2025 through 2028.

The listed data areas include farm conversion to organic production, the share of certified organic output sold as organic, participation in mutual funds, external labour, worker gender, wages, retirement, land use, livestock housing and time outdoors. They also cover farming practices, manure storage and application, biodiversity, plant-protection products, antimicrobial use, energy, training, safety and services for farmers.

Why it matters

The update changes the reporting timetable for particular Farm Sustainability Data Network fields in the EU countries named in the annex. Farms and organisations involved in supplying network data should check the country-specific exemptions and the relevant reporting year rather than assuming every variable is required immediately.

The annex includes different schedules for countries including Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Germany, France, Malta and Sweden. The material provided contains no Türkiye-specific exemption.

What's next

The annex identifies exemptions for 2026, 2027 and 2028, alongside exemptions already granted in 2025. It also marks certain exemptions as newly granted in 2026. Stakeholders can review the official regulation for the applicable table, variable and national timetable.
