What happened

The European Biodiversity Partnership, BiodivERsA+, has launched its 2026 BiodivFuture call under Horizon Europe. It will support international research into emerging ecosystems, including the drivers of change, their impacts and their implications across terrestrial, freshwater, marine and coastal environments.

The call has three research areas: how emerging ecosystems function and connect with social and economic dynamics; practical pathways towards resilient ecosystems amid uncertainty; and the fair distribution of biodiversity benefits through collaborative and investment-oriented socio-ecological change.

Each consortium must include three separately funded partners from at least three countries taking part in the call. Partners receive funding from their respective national funders.

Why it matters

Researchers based in Türkiye can take part through TÜBİTAK’s 1071 programme, which supports participation in international research funding and R&D collaborations. A Turkish participant must submit a national application to TÜBİTAK in addition to the consortium’s international submission. The announcement does not set out a separate business eligibility route.

Applicants that do not follow the national rules may have their proposals returned before assessment.
