What happened
Water4All has launched its 2026 joint transnational call under Horizon Europe. The partnership is supported by the European Commission and brings together 32 funding organisations from Europe and other regions.
The call seeks research and innovation proposals that support long-term water security. Its scope is sustainable water management; extreme events and circularity are excluded.
Applicants must cover at least one of four areas: integrated monitoring and assessment; nature-based approaches for resilient water management at hydrological and hydrogeological system scale; smart, secure and adaptable water infrastructure; or resilient water systems through systemic change, policy alignment and inclusive governance.
Why it matters
Turkish institutions participating in a proposal must follow both the international process and TÜBİTAK’s national process under its 1071 National Funding Programme. A proposal that passes the first stage will be invited to submit a second-stage application.
For the first stage, Turkish partners must submit the international application and lodge an electronically signed national application through TÜBİTAK’s PBS system. This makes national administrative completion a separate requirement alongside the consortium submission.

Water4All aims to reduce water stress, protect water resources and improve their ability to adapt to global change by 2030.

- First-stage international applications are due by 10 November 2026 at 15:00 CET.
- Turkish national applications must be approved in PBS by 16 November 2026 at 23:59 Türkiye time.
