What happened
TÜREB, the Turkish Wind Energy Association, plans to attend WindEnergy Hamburg in Germany from 22 to 25 September with a delegation of around 100 representatives from government and business.
The association’s programme includes the opening of a Türkiye Pavilion, sessions on the country’s wind market and a Türkiye Roadshow. TÜREB says it will use the event to invite global wind-sector participants to the COP31 Antalya Summit.
The Türkiye Wind Energy Investment Roadshow is scheduled for 22 September. TÜREB, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Presidency Investment and Finance Office are organising the event. Its agenda covers investment prospects in onshore and offshore wind, Türkiye’s renewable-energy goals for 2035, capacity planning, grid development, allocation arrangements, incentives and regulation.
Speakers listed for the roadshow include TÜREB chair İbrahim Erden, GWEC chief executive Ben Backwell, officials from Türkiye’s investment office, industry ministry and energy ministry, and representatives of Nordex Group and Polat Enerji.
Why it matters
The Hamburg programme gives Turkish wind companies, investors and public bodies a forum to present the country’s supply-chain, service and maintenance base to international counterparts. TÜREB will also set out planned investment areas, with offshore wind identified as an emerging field for the country.
For European companies, the roadshow is intended to provide information on potential Turkish wind investments, grid planning and the policy conditions discussed by public and industry representatives. A separate session with the German Energy Agency, DENA, will consider value creation and industrial resilience in Europe’s wind sector.
What’s next
On 24 September, the delegation is due to make technical visits in Germany. The itinerary includes Siemens Gamesa’s manufacturing facility in Cuxhaven, TenneT’s SuedLink Information Centre in Glückstadt and Fraunhofer IWES’s technical centre in Bremerhaven. The final visit will cover offshore-wind research, blade-testing facilities, wind-measurement infrastructure and a hydrogen laboratory.
