What happened
Türk Telekom has been named COP31’s global digital transformation and technology partner by Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change. Alongside that role, the telecommunications company has become a Master Partner, the highest sponsorship classification used by the COP31 Presidency.
The ministry said Türk Telekom will assume responsibility for the conference’s technology infrastructure across the event. COP31 President and environment minister Murat Kurum met Türk Telekom chief executive Ebubekir Şahin at the ministry to discuss areas for cooperation during the summit process.
The company’s appointment adds a technology provider to the private-sector organisations supporting preparations for COP31, the 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Türkiye will host the meeting in Antalya from 9 to 20 November.
Why it matters
The arrangement identifies the company expected to deliver the digital and technical systems needed for a major UN climate gathering. For organisations planning to participate, it also clarifies that Türk Telekom has both a service-delivery role and a top-tier sponsorship position.
Technology is now a defined component of the COP31 partnership programme, rather than solely a sponsorship category. The ministry has presented the wider programme as a way to convene public bodies, businesses, finance institutions and civil society around climate action.

Türk Telekom joins other organisations already announced by the presidency. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye is the COP31 business ambassador, while the International Energy Agency is a strategic partner. The Banks Association of Türkiye has been named financial partner; Garanti BBVA and BBVA are global banking partners; and Koç Holding is a global business partner.
