What happened
Turkey’s day-ahead spot electricity market has published a provisional arithmetic average clearing price of TL3,227.45/MWh for power delivered on 24 September 2026. The market is operated by Energy Exchange Istanbul, known as EPİAŞ.
The price profile for the delivery day shows a wide spread between hourly levels. The highest price is TL4,500/MWh, applying from 08:00 to 10:00. The lowest price is TL1,700.01/MWh for the 12:00–13:00 interval.
For the 08:00–20:00 peak period, the provisional arithmetic mean is TL3,210.50/MWh. Outside those hours, the corresponding average is TL3,244.40/MWh. That means the reported off-peak average is above the peak-period average, despite the day’s maximum occurring in the morning.

Why it matters
The delivery-day average is 13.96% higher than the preceding day’s average of TL2,776.96/MWh. It is also 2.92% above the average for the equivalent weekday in the prior week.
For companies exposed to day-ahead electricity prices, the hourly pattern matters alongside the headline average. The difference between the maximum and minimum quoted levels is TL2,799.99/MWh, indicating materially different price conditions across the day. The morning 08:00–10:00 window carries the highest stated rate, while the cheapest quoted period falls at midday.
The previous day’s market data also show that prices can vary sharply by hour: its average was TL2,776.96/MWh, with a high of TL4,214.99/MWh between 19:00 and 20:00 and a low of TL1,400/MWh from 12:00 to 13:00. The newly reported delivery-day schedule therefore represents both a higher average and a different timing for the daily maximum.
What to watch next
The TL3,227.45/MWh figure is identified as provisional rather than final. Market participants assessing procurement exposure or operational schedules should distinguish the published delivery-day hourly prices from the provisional average.
