What happened

The Climate Change Presidency has completed the allocation of authorised organisations for greenhouse-gas emissions-report verification in 2026.

A total of 742 facilities will have their reports checked by 11 authorised firms. The allocations were made on 25 September 2026 through the Central Electronic Verifier Organisation Assignment System, known as MEDAS.

Why it matters

The assigned facilities will need to work with the verifier allocated through MEDAS to complete the required review of their emissions reports. Verification providers also have a defined 2026 client allocation, with 11 firms participating in the process.

Background

The arrangement began in 2023. That year, eight authorised organisations conducted verification for 701 facilities. The figures rose to nine organisations and 748 facilities in 2024, then 10 organisations and 758 facilities in 2025.

What's next

Verification of the 742 facilities’ 2026 greenhouse-gas emissions reports will now be carried out by the organisations assigned on 25 September.
