What happened
Turkey's transmission grid operator TEİAŞ issued formal notice on 31 August 2026 of capacity allocations for unlicensed electricity generation. Applications received during July 2026 (1–31 July) at transmission voltage level were assessed under the framework of EPDK board decision 14353, dated 26 February 2026.
Six projects were awarded a total of 13.3 MW of capacity rights under article 5.1.ç of the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation. Following these allocations, 38.7 MW of regional capacity remained available for future applications.
Why it matters
Unlicensed electricity generation capacity allocation is a core mechanism for distributed renewable energy deployment in Turkey. The transmission voltage level designation indicates these projects feed power directly into the grid infrastructure.
