What happened
Turkey's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources released implementation guidance for solar and wind electricity generation facilities on 24 August 2026. The package comprises two documents: a guide on information and documentation requirements for planning and licensing of solar and wind projects, and a frequently asked questions document containing 44 items.
The guidance supports application of a regulation that took effect in July 2026. According to GENSED, the materials provide substantive clarifications on how the recently enacted rules apply to renewable energy investment, with the aim of making planning and licensing procedures more understandable and operationally useful for project developers.
