What happened

Three competitions under Türkiye’s 2026 Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA) solar programme have been cancelled. The cancelled projects are G26-Malatya-2, G26-Mardin-1 and G26-Kahramanmaraş-1.

According to the announcement, 11 competitions remain scheduled for 3 November 2026, beginning at 10:00. They cover projects in Denizli; Ankara, with two competitions; Konya; Kahramanmaraş, with two remaining competitions; Malatya; Diyarbakır; Mardin; Batman; and Elazığ.

The competitions will take place at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources’ E-Block Meeting Room No. 1 in Ankara.

Why it matters

Applicants pursuing YEKA solar projects and associated connection capacity must adjust for the removal of the three listed opportunities. Companies participating in the remaining competitions must ensure that their authorised representatives attend with signature circulars, authorisation documents or powers of attorney, as applicable, and company seals.

The process concerns the allocation of solar-based renewable energy areas and connection capacity, making the scheduled competition date relevant for developers and investors seeking to enter the projects.
