What happened

İş Enerji has placed its Metafor renewable energy project in Bingöl into service at full capacity, according to a company statement reported by Yeşil Ekonomi.

The site comprises a 50 MW wind power plant and a 50 MW hybrid solar facility integrated with it. Energy Ministry officials have completed the acceptance process for both assets.

The commissioning raises İş Enerji’s installed capacity to 1,650 MW when projects outside Türkiye are included. For energy-market participants, the immediate point is that a combined wind-and-solar project has moved from development into operation, adding to the company’s generating fleet.

Why it matters

Metafor adds two renewable generation technologies at a single location. The project pairs wind output with solar capacity that has been established as an integrated hybrid facility, rather than as a separate project announcement.

The addition also expands İş Enerji’s operating portfolio as the company continues to build its position in renewable generation. The reported 1,650 MW total covers its existing investments alongside international projects, so it should not be read as a Türkiye-only capacity figure.

Readers tracking the Turkish power sector should note the completed acceptance procedures, which confirm that both the wind and solar facilities have passed that stage of project delivery. The company did not disclose generation forecasts, investment costs or a commercial-operation date beyond stating that the project is now operating at full capacity.

Project background

İş Enerji was founded in 2022 as an İş Bankası Group affiliate. In 2024, it acquired the Metafor and Yakaağzı wind projects from Göktekin Enerji.

Metafor’s licensed capacity is 49.7 MW, while the Yakaağzı project in Ağrı has 33.6 MW of licensed capacity. The reported 50 MW figure for Metafor refers to the wind plant described in the company announcement.

What to watch next

İş Enerji says it is continuing development and construction activities for projects expected to add another 600 MW. No delivery schedule, project locations or technology breakdown for that pipeline was provided.
