What happened

Kepez will host the second presentation of a multidisciplinary art exhibition centred on birds, wildlife and biodiversity in the Kaz Mountains. The show will run from 12 to 17 October 2026 at the Turhan Mildon Culture and Arts Centre.

Doors will open at 16:00 on Monday 12 October, and admission will be free. Visitors planning to attend can do so throughout the exhibition period, with the final day on 17 October.

The exhibition is presented by the Körfez Tatbikililer Art Group, with contributions from Kepez Municipality. It follows an earlier showing at the Ida Madra Geopark Güre Exhibition Hall.

Why it matters

The programme uses artistic work to bring attention to the natural heritage of the Kaz Mountains and to the role of birds within the area’s ecosystems. Its stated aim includes strengthening environmental awareness through a public cultural event.

For local audiences, the exhibition offers a route into biodiversity issues through depictions of regional bird species and wildlife. It places birdlife in the context of the mountains’ wider natural environment, rather than treating it solely as a visual subject.

What visitors can expect

Works by artists from different disciplines form the exhibition selection. The pieces consider the Kaz Mountains’ ecosystems and wildlife through individual artistic perspectives.

Birds referenced in the exhibition include the eastern imperial eagle, black woodpecker, hawk, black-eared wheatear and European goldfinch. These species are used to explore the area’s natural richness and biological diversity.

The focus on several species gives visitors a bird-centred view of the region’s living systems. The event combines this ecological subject matter with work from a range of artistic practices.

Previous venue and next steps

Before arriving in Kepez, the exhibition was displayed at the Ida Madra Geopark Güre Exhibition Hall. The Kepez presentation is its next confirmed stop.

The show remains available free of charge at the Turhan Mildon Culture and Arts Centre until 17 October 2026. Event details were reported by EkoIQ.
