What happened
Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) adopted Decision No. 14864 on 10 September 2026. According to GENSED, the decision was published in the Official Gazette on 16 September 2026.
For 2027, the additional transmission surcharge will equal 0.7% of the transmission tariff of Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş. (TEİAŞ). TEİAŞ is required to calculate the charge on a monthly basis and deposit it into EPDK’s account no later than the 25th day of the relevant month.
Why it matters
The decision establishes a specified tariff-linked charge for the full 2027 period. TEİAŞ will need monthly processes for calculating and remitting the surcharge. Organisations assessing electricity-cost exposure in Türkiye should account for the charge and follow the TEİAŞ tariff on which it is based.

Review 2027 electricity transmission cost assumptions against the 0.7% rate. TEİAŞ should prepare its monthly calculation and payment cycle ahead of the regulation’s start date.
